Perrine was originally intended as a place to be used to introduce foreign and tropical plants to America. It is between Homestead and Miami. The rural Homestead is a farming community, and Perrine is good for planting and farming. Many of the original squatters had established small farms on the land that belonged to Dr. Perrine.
If you want to live in South Florida but want a little shelter from hurricanes, Perrine might be your answer. While it isn’t a municipality, it is a community, and you can enjoy camaraderie without all the HOA fees and town council meetings.
Similarly, if you want to start a business but don’t want the super crowded, classic South Florida city environment, try Perrine. It’s inland, but the ocean is only a short drive away. You can have a peaceful life away from the hectic nature of most cities, and when you want a little excitement, you’re near some of the best shopping, dining, and nightlife in the U.S.
