The beautiful Cloud Lake is a small town in famous Palm Beach County, Florida. It’s very small – the total area is 0.1 square miles, and, as of 2010, it had a population of 135.
Cloud Lake was named for a Seminole war chief. Today, it is a fantastic area for freshwater recreation and is also close to the ocean. You can water ski, boat, kayak, swim, fish, and more. Cloud Lake has a park called Stub Canal Park. It has boat launch and slip facilities that are free to the public. Stub Canal Park has 200 feet of lake frontage and is open from sunrise to sunset.
Though it’s a very small town, Cloud Lake has a fairly large internal government. The mayor’s seat is vacant at present but it has three council members and a vice mayor. Administrative officials include a town clerk, attorney, police chief, and fire chief.
As of 2010, there were 59 households and 31 families in the town. Data from 2000 indicates that there were 68 housing units at that time.
Essentially, if you want to live somewhere that is quiet but also has opportunities for relaxation and recreation, then Cloud Lake is a great choice.
