Home Foreclosures for Sale in Pinecrest FL
Sometimes, the big-city world is just too much. While it’s great to be close to everything – museums, festivals, other people, groceries, etc. – sometimes it can be tiring to feel like you have to keep up with everything and everyone. When you feel that way, it might be time to try village life. A village affords the comfort and community of a city – as well as a number of resources – but villages usually are a little less fast-paced.

One village that’s like that is the village of Pinecrest. This rural community, located in South Florida, is part of Miami-Dade County. Though this county includes the big city of Miami – along with other large cities – it isn’t at all overly builtup. Many portions of the county are rural. Pinecrest is a village that’s very close to the coast. It has the protection of an inland location, but the wonderful ocean proximity of someplace much closer.

Pinecrest has some fascinating attractions. The oldest is Parrot Jungle, which started in the 1930s. It was owned by a man who gave tours for 25 cents each – visitors could hear him talk about his birds and plants, as well as see them. The original site – a nature trail dug through existing land – has been sold to the city and renamed Pinecrest Gardens. Parrot Jungle, now Parrot Jungle Island, has been moved to Watson Island, which is nearby.

As of 2010, the population was 18,223, and its area is 7.6 square miles. The village has a number of religious congregations. They include those for Jewish, Catholic, Lutheran, Methodist, and more affiliations. The village is home to many schools, so you have options if you want to raise a family and send your kids to local schools. Essentially, if you want to discover the beauty of quiet village life, you’ll find it here.
