Indian Creek, Florida, may well be one of the wealthiest and most exclusive places to live in the United States. If you want an opulent home on the waterfront, this place might be for you. Be forewarned that homes range in price from $7 million to over $50 million. There are only 32 homes in the village, and some residents are very famous. Those who live (and have lived) in Indian Creek include Beyoncé and Jay-Z, Enrique Iglesias, and Victoria’s secret model Adriana Lima.
If you’re rich and you want to live around famous people, you’ll love it here. Also, in addition to being one of the world’s wealthiest villages, Indian Creek is perhaps one of the most protected. It has an armed boat patrol that is active 24/7. In 2004, there were 14 police officers and 38 residents.
Even better, if you want to really make the news, buy an expensive house in Indian Creek. The village tends to make headlines with sales. For instance, an empty double lot once sold for $15.5 million, and one of the houses sold in 2012 for $47 million. It became the most expensive house sale in Miami-Dade history.
It may be difficult to find a home site in Indian Creek, given the exclusivity of the region, but if you really want to live somewhere extraordinary, it’s worth the extra time searching. These houses are expensive, but you’re paying for protection, exclusivity itself, and privacy. Indian Creek has a private country club and golf course, and it’s on an island in Biscayne Bay.
