North Lauderdale for Rent

Real Estate for Rent in North Lauderdale FL
If you want the opportunities of a thriving metropolitan area like Fort Lauderdale, living close by makes sense. But what if you want a smaller city, a city with its own unique character? Your answer just might be North Lauderdale, a smaller city – population around 41,000, as of the 2010 census – located next to Fort Lauderdale.

The somewhat-deceptively named North Lauderdale is actually west of the famous port city. Its area is about five square miles, a good size for someone who wants a smaller- to medium-sized place to call home.

North Lauderdale is a work of art of sorts. It was planned by Morris Lapidus. A famous and successful architect, Lapidus imagined North Lauderdale as “The City of Tomorrow.” He had previously done work on Miami Beach’s Collins Avenue.

North Lauderdale eventually became the working family’s Miami Beach. It has become a community of hard workers who spend weekends relaxing in the Florida sun.

North Lauderdale takes care of its residents – the city’s “free paint” program provides recycled latex exterior paint to residents who can use it for personal projects. A senior shuttle service is provided for the elderly. North Lauderdale is committed to maintaining the natural beauty of Florida – a community garden was made from a vacant lot in 2011, and annual Community Beautification Awards are given to individual residents as well as commercial properties.

North Lauderdale has been awarded a place in the top 100 Best Cities for Youth by America’s Promise Alliance. The city, though compact, maintains over 150 acres of park space. To cultivate a sense of community, the city holds events in the parks.
