Bahia Cabana Beach Resort:  The city commissioners of Fort Lauderdale are considering a proposal from Randolph Equity , a local real estate development firm that would revitalize the "world famous" Bahia Cabana Beach Resort  on Fort Lauderdale Beach.  It is estimated to bring over $100 million in economic impact and hundreds of permanent jobs to the area.

Under the proposal, Randolph Equity would build a 196-room hotel and a luxury 112-condominium complex on Bahia Cabana's site at 3001 Harbor Drive and two nearby parcels at 1001 and 1015 Seabreeze Blvd.  In addition to the hotel and condo buildings, restaurants, art galleries and shops, a marina and pedestrian pathways along A1A and the Intracoastal Waterway are also being proposed.

Randolph is offering a land swap with the city for the two Seabreeze Boulevard parcels in exchange for a .38 acre lot it owns just west of Bahia Cabana.  As part of the land swap, Randolph would allocate 150 parking spaces from the project's new multistory parking garage for the city to own and operate.

A detailed proposal has been submitted to city officials for review and is awaiting city approval before construction can begin.
