About Cutler Ridge Florida

In the early 1950's, David Blumberg bought 1,400 acres of land from William Cutler and named the land after him and the limestone ridge on which the land sits. In no time Blumberg built an organized community in which he named Cutler Ridge. The first housing development went up in 1954 and the Cutler Ridge Mall opened in 1960. Since then, the surrounding attractions to the area have enticed new developers and business to build and expand the community into a wonderful number of diverse neighborhoods. 

In January 2005, Cutler Ridge was incorporated as Cutler Bay, becoming the youngest city ever to be incorporated. Travel, commerce, schooling and socializing brought all members of the South Dade area together and Cutler Ridge, Cutler Bay has flourished as a community. The new construction and development over the last few years has attracted many new families and businesses to the area as the location is prime for many of Miami's attractions.

The surrounding areas of Black Point, Redlands, Deerwood, Saga Bay, Pinecrest, Falls and Palmetto Bay house such attractions as Biscayne National Park, Cutler Ridge Mall, Deering Estates, Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens, Miami Metrozoo, Miami Museum of Science, Miami Seaquarium, and Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.
