About Coral Springs Florida
Coral Springs, FL is located in Broward County in close proximity to Ft. Lauderdale and Boca Raton. In 2006 Money Magazine’s list of 100 Best Places to Live, Coral Springs was ranked 27th making it the highest-ranked Florida city. Coral Springs has over 22 public schools - a number of which are A-rated. Also, it is very close to Florida Atlantic University and Broward Community College.
One of the main features of Coral Springs is The Walk - an upscale shopping center. The Walk has an entertaining nightlife with a family-oriented appeal. There are a number of cozy side-walk cafes and quaint restaurants along with high-end fashion boutiques. Some of the highlights of the plaza are Kilwin's Ice Cream & Chocolates, Barnes & Noble, and a Starbucks that frequently has live music. The are also many large-scale restaurants nearby such as Big Bear Brewery, Carrabba's, Applebee's, Roadhouse Grill, and Chipotle, to name a few. The Walk was the beginning of a renovation to create an upscale downtown Coral Springs - similar to that of Las Olas in Ft. Lauderdale and City Place in West Palm - which is still in the works. Contemporary and abstract art statues adorn Sample Road as part of this renovation. Coral Square Mall is only a few miles away from The Walk and includes stores such as Macy's, Macy's Men's, Kid's & Home Store, Dillard's, JCPenney and Sears, as well as more than 120 specialty stores and restaraunts.
The city offers a number of different recreational activities including aquatic programs, fitness clubs & activities, camps, gymnasium programs, senior programs, tennis programs, and a teen center. Coral Springs also offers a variety of sportsplexes including the Coral Springs Aquatic Complex, Coral Springs Tennis Center, Incredible Ice (the Official Home of the Florida Panthers), “Dr. Paul’s Pet Care Center” Dog Park, and The Sawgrass Nature Center & Wildlife Hospital. In addition, there are youth and adult leagues for nearly every sport – from cheerleading to basketball. Other leisurely attractions include, but are not limited to, the Coral Springs Museum of Art and the Coral Springs Center for the Arts.
